In 1871, America’s pastime was born, and by the beginning of the 20th century, most large cities in the eastern United States had professional baseball teams. The teams were divided into two leagues. The most victorious team in each league was said to have the pennant; the two pennant winners met after the end of the regular season in the World Series to crown a champion.
Fast forward to today, where the Texas Rangers are playing the Arizona Diamondbacks in the World Series. While the championship continues, many teams are officially into their offseason and prepping for 2024 by looking deep into their farm system and minor league teams…
As teams begin looking ahead to the 2024 season, two new Single-A minor league teams have been established, and their respective cities have been selected. From the National League, the Salem Zombies is one of the Single-A teams for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Before the season begins, a logo, baseball cap, and jersey need to be designed for the team.
For this project, I was tasked with designing the branding for the Salem Zombies minor league baseball team, including a mascot, a baseball cap, and a jersey.
