Prehistoric Climate Change – Posters

This series of animated posters illustrates the gradual transformation of Earth’s climate through three major prehistoric periods: the Paleolithic, Mesolithic, and Neolithic. Each poster visually captures a moment in time using symbolic mountain-like ice forms, shifting temperatures, and minimal yet expressive typography. The Paleolithic poster, set 2.5 million years ago, shows a fully frozen peak against a glacial blue backdrop, reflecting the Earth’s frigid average temperature of -8°C. Transitioning into the Mesolithic era, around 10,000 years ago, the ice begins to melt slightly, suggesting a warming climate with an average of -1°C. Finally, the Neolithic poster depicts a small green sprout emerging from the ice 5,000 years ago, paired with a temperature of 1°C, marking a symbolic shift toward growth, agriculture, and a more habitable Earth. The consistent use of geometric backgrounds and evolving colors subtly emphasizes the rhythm of time and natural systems, while the progression in temperature and visual elements comments on both environmental change and human adaptation.
